What is Atticus AI?
Atticus AI is an AI-powered legal research and document platform built for solo practitioners and small firms. It combines a searchable knowledge base of 4.2M+ legal records, an AI research assistant, a document editor, and secure file storage in one workspace.
Who is Atticus AI built for?
Solo attorneys and small law firms who need powerful research and drafting tools without the overhead of enterprise legal tech. If you practice on your own or with a small team, Atticus AI is designed for the way you work.
What jurisdictions do you cover?
All 50 U.S. states plus federal courts, SEC filings, DOL records, and EDGAR data. Our knowledge base is updated weekly to ensure you’re working with current authority.
What AI model does Atticus AI use?
We use Anthropic’s Claude, hosted on AWS Bedrock. Our system uses an intelligent fallback chain to ensure high availability and consistent quality across every query.
How accurate is the AI research?
Every AI response cites its sources so you can verify. Atticus AI draws from our curated legal database, live web results, and your uploaded documents. We recommend treating AI output as a research starting point, not final legal advice.
Can the AI access my uploaded documents?
Yes. When you upload files to your workspace, the AI can reference them during research and drafting. Your documents are only accessible to you and your firm — never shared across accounts.
What does the web search feature do?
In addition to our legal database, Atticus AI can search the live web for recent developments, news, and supplementary sources. Results are cited inline so you always know where information comes from.
Does AI replace my professional judgment?
No. Atticus AI is a research and drafting tool that accelerates your work. It does not provide legal advice. All outputs should be reviewed and validated by a licensed attorney before use.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your documents, queries, and conversations are never used to train or fine-tune any AI model. Your data belongs to you.
Can other users see my documents?
No. All data is isolated at the firm level. Other firms and users cannot access your documents, queries, or workspace content under any circumstances.
Is Atticus AI HIPAA compliant?
Yes. We maintain HIPAA-compliant audit logging, encrypted data at rest and in transit, session timeout enforcement, and role-based access controls. Our infrastructure runs on AWS with encryption enabled at every layer.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in U.S.-based AWS data centers (us-east-1 region). Storage is encrypted at rest using AES-256, and all data in transit is protected by TLS.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account starts with a free trial with full access to all features. A payment method is required at signup for identity verification, but you won't be charged until the trial ends and you can cancel anytime before then.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. Cancel from your account settings and you won’t be billed again.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation so you can export everything you need. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted from our systems.
How does team pricing work?
Teams start at $65 per seat per month. Volume discounts apply at 6+ seats. You can add or remove seats at any time, and billing adjusts automatically.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. For teams of 6 or more, invoicing is available upon request.
