- Service Hours: 24/7 platform availability with business hours support

3. Eligibility and Account Registration
3.1 User Eligibility
While not strictly required, Atticus is strongly recommended for legal professionals including:
- Licensed attorneys
- Paralegals and legal assistants
- Legal clerks and support staff
- Other legal industry professionals
3.2 Account Registration
- Verification Process: Manual verification of professional credentials
- Account Security: Users are responsible for maintaining account security
- Accurate Information: Users must provide truthful and current information
- Age Requirement: Users must be 18 years or older
4. Acceptable Use Policy
4.1 Permitted Uses

8. Service Level Commitments

9. Intellectual Property Rights

- Starboard Labs LLC owns all rights to the Atticus platform
- Users receive a limited license to use the Service during their subscription
- No rights are granted to underlying AI models or proprietary technology
- Trademarks and branding remain property of Starboard Labs LLC
9.2 User Content Protection
- Users retain all rights to their uploaded documents and content
- Company claims no ownership interest in user-generated content
- Limited license granted to Company solely for service provision
- Attorney-client privilege and confidentiality are preserved
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Service Limitations
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We disclaim all warranties, express or implied
- We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI outputs
- We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content
- Users assume responsibility for professional judgment and verification
10.2 Liability Caps
Our liability for any claims related to the Service is limited to:
- The amount paid by the user in the 12 months preceding the claim
- Direct damages only (no consequential, indirect, or punitive damages)
- Professional liability insurance may provide additional protection
10.3 Force Majeure
We are not liable for service disruptions caused by:
- Natural disasters or emergencies
- Government actions or regulations
- Third-party service failures (e.g., AWS outages, Cloudflare disruptions)

11. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Starboard Labs LLC from claims arising from:

- Infringement of third-party rights through user content

11.2 Company Indemnification
Subject to limitations in these Terms, we will defend users against claims that the Service infringes third-party intellectual property rights, provided users comply with these Terms.
12. Term and Termination

- Subscriptions continue until cancelled by either party
- Automatic renewal on monthly billing cycle
- Either party may terminate with appropriate notice

- User Termination: Users may cancel subscription at any time
- Company Termination: We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations

- Service Access: Terminated accounts lose access to the Service immediately

- Payment obligations continue through the end of the billing period

- Regular updates and improvements to the Service
- New features and capabilities added periodically
- Security updates and maintenance performed regularly
- User notification of significant changes
15.2 Terms Modifications
- Terms may be updated to reflect service changes or legal requirements
- Users will be notified of material changes via email
- Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms
- Right to terminate if users disagree with changes
16. Miscellaneous Provisions
16.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
